How to Spend a Perfect Weekend in Seattle
If you’ve only got a weekend in Seattle, don’t worry…two days is plenty of time to fall in love with this PNW city. Think jaw-dropping views, incredible food, and a laid-back vibe that feels equal parts cozy and cosmopolitan. Whether you’re sipping rooftop cocktails, riding the ferry to Bainbridge Island, or tasting your way through Pike Place Market, this guide is packed with the best things to do in Seattle in 48 hours.
How to spend a weekend in seattle
Day 1:
Grab Coffee At The First (ever) Starbucks
Start your Seattle weekend with a little coffee history. The original Starbucks (located at 1912 Pike Place) is smaller than you’d think, and most always has a line.
If you want a fun photo without the wait, grab a coffee at the nearby Starbucks and snap your pic in front of the original! Nearby Starbucks locations can be found at: 1401 2nd Ave and 1305 1st Ave.
Space Needle & Chihuly Garden and Glass
Next up, head to the Space Needle - a must for first-time visitors. Arrive early (doors open at 9AM) to beat the crowd and enjoy panoramic views of the city skyline and Puget Sound. Right next door, the Chihuly Garden and Glass museum is a quick but stunning stop featuring the iconic glasswork of Dale Chihuly. You can buy a combo ticket online for both attractions to save time (and money!).
Pike Place Market
Wander through one of the most iconic Seattle attractions - Pike Place Market. Sample fresh seafood, browse handmade crafts, and grab a bouquet of fresh flowers. It's busy, flavorful, and a true Seattle staple. Once you’ve explored Pike Place Market, don’t miss any of these spots right around the market:
Truffle Queen – Wine + truffle tasting for $10. Yes, please.
Pike Place Chowder – Award-winning chowder, absolutely worth the wait. You can also order ahead and skip the line if you prefer.
Rachel’s Ginger Beer – Refreshing, house-made ginger beer flavors like black currant and pink guava.
Gum Wall – Weird, iconic, and somehow charming. Located at 1428 Post Alley Walk Wy.
Sunset Drinks at The Nest & Fog Room
As the sun sets, head to The Nest Rooftop at The Thompson Hotel. With a DJ, stunning skyline views, and delicious cocktails, this is the place to be.
Still thirsty? Walk one minute over to Fog Room for a cozier rooftop lounge vibe and don’t skip the deviled eggs.
Dinner At Six Seven
If you’re looking for dinner with a view, Six Seven Restaurant is your spot. Located inside The Edgewater Hotel, Six Seven serves delicious local seafood. This is another amazing place to watch the sunset.
Day 2:
Brunch at Skillet Diner
Skillet Diner is a must for breakfast in Seattle. Be sure to try their Breakfast Burrito (add fried chicken) or the Chub Sandwich. This spot is laid-back and delicious - and they take reservations! There are a few locations, but we recommend the Capitol Hill location so you can see a different part of the city.
Bike Bainbridge Island (Day Trip!)
If you're spending a weekend in Seattle, a ferry ride to Bainbridge Island is the best way to soak in those Pacific Northwest vibes. Once you arrive, rent bikes (splurge for electric-it’s absolutely worth it!) and explore the island’s scenic streets, beautiful landscapes, and small-town charm.
If you’re hungry, head to Via Rosa Italian Market + Kitchen for a bite to eat. If you’re thirsty, Amelia Wynn Winery is a cozy wine tasting shop.
Dinner at Westward
Just 20 minutes from downtown, Westward has waterfront seating and a seafood-forward Mediterranean menu. With views of the Seattle skyline and a breezy, coastal-cool vibe, it’s the perfect way to toast your last night in the city. Be sure to request a table outside on the waterline. You’ll never want to leave!
Optional: Seattle Mariners Game
Visiting during baseball season? Catch a Seattle Mariners game under the stadium’s retractable roof. It's a fun way to cap off your weekend in Seattle.
Late Night at Rocco’s Pizza
Looking for a late night snack after the game? Rocco’s Pizza is a quick, perfect staple. Be sure to try a slice of the “Stacey + Tina’s Night Out” pizza.
